Mr. Wickhoff is General Manager for Weingut Bründlmayer in Kamptal, Austria. Before that, he was for many years managing director for a group of premium wineries from Austria. As the coordinator of this fine selection of growers, he partially assisted in the production process but mostly travelled around the world to promote the group's wines and spirits. Before establishing the association in 2004, he worked as a sommelier and wine buyer in Corsica, France and Vail, CO, USA. Mr. Wickhoff is a graduate of the College of Tourism and Hotel Management in Bad Gleichenberg, Austria, and completed a degree in Food & Hospitality Management at Martin College in Brisbane, AUS. He is one of the rare Mater of Wine´s.

Jason Turner, BA

Lecturer for Wine Tasting and Description

After his studies of German and History at the University Exeter in Great Britain, Mr. Turner came to Austria where he quickly found his passion for wine. Therefore he began to work for Wein & Co in Vienna as Marketing and Event Manager, but also as Initiator for the winefair MondoVino. In 2007 Mr. Turner kept his focus on gaining experiences in the export market from wineries. After that, he established his own firm “jstwine“, which offers translations of specific wine terms, winery websites and “infotainment“ tastings in the B2B area. Furthermore, Mr. Turner is a member of the Decanter World Wine Awards in London, judge at the International Wine Challenge in London and he tastes about 5.000 wines a year. In 2011 he started to work for Falstaff as International Marketing Manger and after that Mr. Turner worked for the food a trade organisation Spar in the wine sector.

Charles Metcalfe

Lecturer for Wine Tasting and Description

Mr. Metcalfe worked as a tour guide, security guard, freelance cook, investment analyst and opera singer in the past which was the perfect preperation for his co-founding Britain´s second consumer wine magazine “Wine International“ and the International Wine Challenge of which he is still Co-Chairman. Mr. Metcalfe presents  wine on many TV shows and he his on oft wo wine consultants tot he Corporation of London, selecting wines for their official functions. Furthermore, he writes books, for example his latest one The “Wine & Food Lover´s Guide to Portugal“ which won the Louis Roederer International Wine Writer´s Book Award in 2008. Additionally, Mr. Metcalfe serves as Honorary President oft he Association of Wine Educators and Chairman of Judges fort he Louis Roederer International Wine Writers´Awards. He often tastes 100 or more wines per day from all over the world.

Reinhard Eder, Dipl.-Ing. Dr.

Lecturer for Chemistry, Microbiology and Wine Processing

Mr. Eder is the dean of the HBLA Klosterneuburg, teacher at the BOKU University in Vienna, judge for the accreditation of engineers and scientific chief editor of the “Mitteilungen Klosterneuburg“. He published 160 publications of national and international magazines, wrote three specialized books and was part of the writing of another six specialized books about wine. Mr. Eder is a researcher for phenols in wine, effect of microorganisms on wine quality, optimization of aroma of wine and much more. Therefore he received  the Schwackhöfer Price for special scientific research. Furthermore, Mr. Eder is member of several international associations, for example the evaluation team for the International Master Studies of VINIFERA in Montpellier.

Carla Baumer, MBA

Carla Baumer is Brand Manager for Moët Hennessy Austria which is a wholly owned subsidiary of LVMH, the worldwide leader in luxury goods which drives the wine and spirits sector with 13 luxury wine and spirits brands in its local market portfolio. Carla is an international marketer with experience in marketing and business development in public and private enterprises. She is experienced in working across functions, nationalities and departments; has strong project and process management capabilities. She lived, studied and worked in Australia, Mexico and Europe. Carla’s expertise include brand management, trade marketing, business development, luxury brand management, PR & communication, project management, research and analysis, strategic planning, media management as well as market & competitor analysis.

Albert Stöckl, Dr. Dipl.-BW (FH) MA

Study programme director and lecturer for International Wine Tourism, Research Methodology and Marketing

Mr. Stöckl worked in the gastronomy and hotel business for 15 years. Düsseldorf, Vienna, London, Clermont-Ferrand (Auvergne) and Southern Tyrol were some of his working places. He studied Wine Business in Heilbronn (Germany) and in Borlänge (Sweden), Chambéry (France) und Bournemouth (England) European Tourism Management. After that, he worked for Wein&Co and FH Burgenland for the studies International Winemarketing and International Business Relationships. After that, Mr. Stöckl became a lecturer at the FH Krems. Furthermore, he does research on Winemarketing, Gourmet-Toursim and “Place-Based-Brands“.
Mr. Stöckl is the programme director of International Wine Business at FH Krems. He says about this:

„Wir bieten ein modernes, anspruchsvolles und praxisorientiertes Studium, das allen jungen und weininteressierten Menschen sowohl aus produzierenden als auch „konsumierenden“ Ländern die Möglichkeit bietet, sich von Anfang an in der internationalen Weinwelt zu vernetzen.
